Our library provides a social space to meet, collaborate, research, learn, share, and relax. The staff work to develop a reading culture and raise the levels of information literacy across the school by leading students through processes which empower them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers and skillful, efficient and discerning researchers.
The Oliver library management system, together with the ACEN digital library provide 24/7 access to a wealth of authentic, authoritative, age appropriate resources to specifically meet student and staff needs.
Resources include fiction and non-fiction books, ebooks, audiobooks, videos, journals, encyclopaedias, articles, websites, learning objects, CDs and DVDs.
Each term, we are provided with the latest catalogue from the Scholastic Book Club which is an opportunity to purchase books for your child/children. The Premier’s Reading Challenge runs through until August each year to encourage our students to become regular readers. Book Week celebrations and the Carnival Book Fair are held in August each year with a Book week parade, and a visiting author.
2019’s theme is “Reading is My Super Power.”
